Blustery conditions greeted a record crowd of runners at the Sri Chinmoy Williamstown Foreshore Run on Sunday December 12. But despite the conditions some fast times including a new course record in the women's 5km event were recorded. Results and images from the day are available online.

A total of 340 runners toed the line for the the premier 10km event which was taken out by Nick Ashton in a swift 33.45 followed by Cameron Simon and Mack Clarkson in 35.13 and 35.35 respectively. In the women's race line honours went to Rebecca York in 40.58. Suzanne Geard 41.52 and Louisa Hamlton-White 42.20 took out the minor places.

In the age group categories special mention must go to David Reidie who took out the Male 60-69 category in 41.48 to finish 34th overall and 16 Jason Moore who finished first in the men's 15-17 age category and 16th overal in a very commendable 39.10.

In the 5km race was won by Jason Dalton in 16.56 followed closely by Rob Haala in 16.59 and Ian Burrows in 17.39. The women's race was taken out by Sophie Barker, shaving almost 2 minutes off the 5km course record time of 18:07. The minor places were taken out by Belinda Keogh 20.15 and Bronwyn Morris 22.48 (who was also first across the line ion the women's 40-49 age category).

Our next event is the Sri Chinmoy Yarra Boulevard Run on Sunday 27 February with 15km, 10km and 5km distances on offer. Enter online.

Earlybird online entries are also open for our premier event, the Sri Chinmoy Running & Fitness Festival at Williamstown on Sunday 29 May. The Festival features marathon, half marathon, 10km & 4km events on the fast and flat roads through Williamstown and Newport.
