After so much hot weather it was a relief to have such a relatively cool day, overcast with a high of twenty degrees. Best of all, the rain held off, creating perfect running conditions. This was the first time in a long time that we held our 10km and 4km race on a Sunday, and the first time we had an 8.30am start. Also, this was the first time in quite a while that the start area wasn't surrounded by construction fences, as the Acton Park development nears completion.
In the 4km race, the fastest runner was Ellie Barrett in a time of 17:30. The fastest male was Calvin Whitehead in the Under 13 category in 21:04. Liam White, the over 17's winner, did the fastest time with a stroller on this course in 22:14... and as we all know, there are hills!
In the 10km race, Greg Taylor was the champion in a smoking time of 34:43. Simona Martorana was the fastest woman in 41:15. The ever young Clare Wall won the 70+ category in 53:55.
Congratulations to all the runners and we hope to see you at the upcoming Sri Chinmoy Trail Series.
