We had an amazing event this morning even though we had to alter the course at the 10th hour. Minnippi Parklands tends to flood more than other parks and then water is slow to drain away. Runners are a resilient lot though and there were no complaints about the course changing from a loop to an out & back.
Post race pancakes were back on the menu for the first time post Covid. This is always popular with the kids.
We had a record number of kids running the 2.5km race today and with the 1.25km out then back, and with lots of other runners always in view, most kids were happy to run on their own. There was the odd enthusiastic parent struggling to keep up with their child and sorry that they had started. It was a very hot morning with mid morning temperatures up to mid 20's.
Some of our other runners were doing a Sri Chinmoy race for the first time and it's always nice to get their positive feedback. So if you'd like to encourage your friends to come and do a race then our next race is on Labour day Monday 2 May in the CIty Botanic Gardens.
We hope to see everyone there.
