A 10km relay on a fast and flat course set amongst the beautiful scenery of Minnippi Parklands

About the event

All races start on the Bulimba Creek Bikeway about 100m west of the Stanton Road W car park at 7am. Please note this start time is one hour earlier than our races at other venues.

The course is a 2.5km clockwise circuit through the beautiful Minnippi Parklands, incorporating a 500m out-and-back section at the southern end of the lake. Each team will run 4 x 2.5km loops. A team can consist of 1 to 4 team members. Only the Team Captain's name needs to be provided when you register. Other team members can be finalised on the day. Children are welcome to participate.

There will be medals for the first 3 places in the following categories:

  • Male
  • Female
  • Mixed
  • Family (must have at least one child under the age of 15)

All participants need to bring their own water bottle which can be filled at the race. Some tables will be provided for those running solo to place their bottle on.

Event Details

Number collection and team member registration is from 6.15am until 6:50am on the day of the race.

Convenient carparking is available in the carpark at the southern end of Stanton Rd W, Tingalpa

  • Accurately measured traffic-free course with markers every km
  • First aid services are provided by First Response
  • Toilets available at the start/finish area

If you are unwell, have a cough or fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath, please stay home and seek a Covid test. Also anyone who has been overseas in the last 14 days, been in close contact with a confirmed case then also please stay home. Teams will be able to change team category if a team member is unable to come. If a team is unable to attend due to Covid reasons then please contact me on 0413884624 or email [email protected] to arrange a credit for a future event.

While we will have a first aid person at the event to assist on managing hygiene and social distancing, it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain social distancing.

At registration we will have 3 separate tables for team captains to register their team based on team category (all female and family teams will be grouped together). We will also start the race in 3 waves, 7am – all male teams, 7.07 – all mixed teams, 7.14 – all female and family teams.

All runners need to bring their own water bottle, and optionally their own pen and hand sanitiser. A table will be provided for solo entrants to leave their bottle on if they wish.

For relay change overs we will be spread out over a 50m distance so teams are not bunched together. This means some runners may run an extra 20 or 30 metres and some less. Lap timing will be up to each team to record if they wish. We will record all finishers in the finish chute and publish results later in the day. Presentations for team category winners will be a continuous process. There will be a small take-home snack for each participant.
