Sri Chinmoy Canberra Team Announce Cool Season Races for 2007

3 Multi-Sport Races and running events to keep the cobwebs away during the cooler months in and around Canberra...

Now the Summer months are drawing to a close, we look forward to new opportunities for fun and fitness.

The Sri Chinmoy Races Canberra team will be staging a Multi-Sport Series of 3 races, and our traditional Half Marathon in the coming months. Meanwhile please check out these athletes' reports (and photos) from the recent Sri Chinmoy Multi-Sport Classic in Jindabyne.

Sri Chinmoy Races Calendar through Spring 2007

Sunday 6 May

The Sri Chinmoy Yerrabi/Mulligans Flat Multi-Sport race is an ideal introduction to multi-sport, with (for once!) easy, flat courses for all legs. Paddle on and run around the delightful Yerrabi Pond in Gungahlin, then enjoy the woodlands of Canberra's newest Nature Parks at Mulligans Flat and Goorooyarroo.

Short Course: 2.5 km run/2.5 km paddle/14 km mountain bike/3 km run
Long Course: 4 km run/5 km paddle/27 km mountain bike/4 km run

Sunday 8 July

The Sri Chinmoy Off-Road Duathlon is the only race of its type in Canberra this season. The first run course runs through the National Botanic Gardens. The bike thoroughly explores Black Mountain Reserve (and for the long course, Aranda Bushland). The final run for the long course enjoys some of the best views in Canberra (read: goes almost to the top of Black Mountain), while the short course offers a much easier option.

Short Course: 2 km run/7 km mountain bike/2.5 km run
Long Course: 3.3 km run/23 km mountain bike/7.5 km run

Sunday 15 July

Don't miss the Sri Chinmoy Half Marathon/5 Mile/2 Mile Races at Telopea Park. Great support as you run on a one-mile loop on cycle path and road in and around Telopea Park. An opportunity to race the rare distances of 5 Miles and 2 Miles, or clock another Half Marathon.
